CrossFit has been the leading sport and fitness activity that encourages its participants to be prepared for the unknown and unknowable. Show up to the workout – no matter what it is – and take on whatever it is with confidence and humility.
We’ve learned life is just like that, and 2020 was a stark reminder that we never really know what life is going to throw at us. We didn’t know all this time we have been training for a pandemic; by putting our health first, we unknowingly prepared our bodies for the challenges we faced this year.
In the end, 858 believes two phrases really detail the resilience and mindset of its community:
If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.
Workouts here are hard, because if they were easy our bodies wouldn’t need to adapt. As we face new and unknown challenges ahead, we remind ourselves that change is good and it’s how we grow as people, a community, and a business.
Be humble.
Our mantra since day one, be humble reminds us that CrossFit never gets easy and we can always push ourselves to be better than yesterday. Our work is never done, and we must always remember to be humble and work hard every day.
